Benedictine Bed & Breakfast

COVID-19: Click here to read about our Health and Safety Measures.

Centuries before the advent of hoteliers in Europe, Benedictine monks offered warmth and hospitality to travelers and pilgrims who came to their door.  This spirit lives on in Chicago.

We invite you, tourist or business traveler, to enter a private gate into Benedictine B&B, where you will discover a spacious, comfortable retreat tucked within the grounds of our peaceful monastery.

Located in the historic Bridgeport neighborhood, Benedictine B&B enfolds travelers in a sense of home. Claim it as your base for exploration: fine art, matchless museums, the festivals of Millennium Park, the Chicago Symphony and the lakefront all await you, minutes away.

Choose the Garden House apartment or the Loft apartment.

  • The Loft is a seven-room, three-bedroom apartment nestled high under a cathedral ceiling (yes, literally!), with a kitchenette and sleeping for five. Here you’ll savor our renowned breakfasts, served hot from the monks’ ovens and griddle.

Our Chicago Benedictine B&B will provide you a relaxing environment, and delicious food, while you explore the city.

  • The Garden House apartment encompasses six rooms: two bedrooms, a living room with a fold-out couch/futon, a full kitchen and sleeping for five. The monks stock the fridge and cupboard with everything you need to prepare breakfast. During the spring and summer, the elevated deck overlooking our monastic vegetable and flower gardens affords you a perfect spot for dining al fresco.
