Oblates

Oblates of Saint Benedict are individuals living in the world who have associated themselves with the Monastery of the Holy Cross to deepen their relationship with Christ.  They promise to lead an enriched Christian life according to the Gospel as it is reflected in the Rule of St. Benedict.  In this way they share in the spiritual benefits of the Monastery.

We presently have 60 Oblates associated with the Monastery: men and women, married and single, of all ages.  The Oblates are invited to participate in conferences given after Mass on the second Sunday of each month.  The conferences cover spirituality, Gregorian chant, the Psalms and monastic history.

For more information on becoming a Benedictine Oblate, contact Oblate Director Father Timothy (773) 927-7424 ext. 202 or use our Contact form.

To check on dates for when we will be meeting next, click here to visit our Upcoming Events page.

For those who cannot join us in person, click here to visit our Oblate Podcast page to listen to our monthly lectures. Conferences are presented by Prior Peter.
